Yes, I said Thanksgiving! I’m Canadian, remember?? And let’s be honest, this is definitely something we have over the Americans. I absolutely dread those obligatory family gatherings…never mind the stress, expense, & work involved in both Thanksgiving & Christmas. Having them back to back is just crazy talk, & something that would most certainly give me that last little nudge over the brink of insanity. So, here in Canada, we will celebrate Thanksgiving this coming weekend, & to all of you partaking in your own drunken, dysfunctional, disingenuous dinner festivities, might I suggest you give thanks that Christmas is still a few months away!

Of course, I kid…I love my family. I’m told I have to. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians, all the best to you & yours, & of course, it goes without saying, I am ever so thankful for the gift of my children & the many blessings they bring to my life!
Signed,
The Mayor!

This weekend couldn’t come fast enough…sadly I also know it will go by fast enough. At least the weather is supposed to cooperate in my neck of the woods. And…I’m going to border hop to enjoy some Columbus Day sales!

LMAO Cheryl! It’s funny cause I found one that says: Canadian Thanksgiving: We celebrate other nation’s achievements because we have none of our own!….but I didn’t think it was funny…hahahahaha!! Besides, Thanksgiving isn’t about any “achievements” per se, & all nations can & should take a moment to give thanks for what we have. And to get drunk, eat turkey, & fight with our families.

Well, Happy Thanksgiving! A tradition we don’t do here in Oz, but I wish we did because what a nice thing to do – sit around and count your blessings, basically. Loving it.
Enjoy.

You mean to tell me that we HAVE to like our family?! That is a revelation.
I get the perks of 2 worlds. I am canuck by blood…ahem BOOYA…and my husband is a half breed of Canuck and Yankee…which means I get turkey at least once a month until January. None of which I have to cook. Also…BOOYA

I totally think Canada’s got it right on this one. I can’t stand the march of holiday after holiday from November to January. And apparently, hiding in the bathroom during family events is “not the done thing.” Who knew?
